Scott Glaser

Scott is a Junior at Pitt. Prior to starting college, he was always interested in helping communities. After arriving in Pittsburgh he began to explore different neighborhoods, learning more than just where the best coffee shops are, and taking time to understand the problems that people face in these communities. He learned that a commonality among these communities is the lack of affordable housing, which hinders progress by inadvertently creating school segregation and a lack of job opportunities. He and a friend are approaching the inaugural year of their club, Advancing Communities Together, with hopes to tackle those issues. While local issues are important for him, he also extends his vision to include problems facing the international community as well. This has led him realize a passion for studying Arabic and reading and learning about the Middle East.
