Vishnu Maddipatla

Vishnu is a rising senior at the University of Pittsburgh from Ashburn, Virginia. He is pursuing a degree in Neuroscience with minors in Economics and Chemistry. At Pitt, he is an undergraduate research associate at the Sinha Lab, ambassador in the Blue & Gold Society, and a volunteer at UPMC Mercy. He is also involved with student organizations as the president of the Neuroscience club at Pitt and the founding member and secretary of Student Organ Donation Advocates at Pitt. 
 
Vishnu’s interest in improving access to STEAM education originates from his early involvement in robotics tournaments in middle and high school. During his junior year, Vishnu was selected as a Browne Fellow and worked with Assemble to improve STEAM educational outcomes within the local Garfield community in Pittsburgh. He hopes to deliver substantive and lasting changes to current teaching approaches within classrooms to improve educational outcomes amongst socioeconomically disadvantaged and underrepresented students.
